Rich web applications in plain Java without plugins or JavaScript

2009-03-25 (09.00 - 12.00) Sami Ekblad, IT Mill:

Sami EkbladIf you consider to build an web/Ajax front-end to a Java / Java EE application or converting an existing desktop application into a web application this tutorial is really worth attending. In this session we will learn how to build desktop-like web applications in plain Java without any HTML, XML, plugins or JavaScript programming.

Open-source IT Mill Toolkit is used to leverage Server-Driven RIA (SDR) architecture that emphasizes focus on application logic and minimizes cross-browser issues.

We will use component based UI model at the server-side to avoid the most typical problems in web application development. This approach allows developers familiar with Java to create rich and more secure web applications without learning new web technologies.
